Thomas Hytry Life Story

Thomas Lee Hytry, known as Tom to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 28,
2024, in Naperville, Illinois, due to heart failure. Born on October 9, 1947, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin,
Tom's journey through life was marked by his intelligence, analytical mind, and adventurous spirit.

Tom's formative years were spent in Milwaukee Wisconsin, where he developed a lifelong love for
learning. He pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and later at Whitewater,
where he honed the skills(Like drinking beer) that would serve him well throughout his professional and
personal life.

Professionally, Tom dedicated many years to Ma Bell and Lucent, where his analytical prowess and
intelligent approach to problem-solving made him a respected figure among his colleagues. He was not
only committed to his work but also actively involved in various associations, contributing his time and
expertise to further the interests of his field.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Tom was a proud member of the Columbia Yacht Club. His passion
for sailing was not confined to leisurely pursuits; he played an integral role in running the race committee,
bringing his characteristic dedication and attention to detail to the sport he loved. Tom's interests also
extended to woodworking, where he crafted beautiful pieces that reflected his patience and precision. He
also loved music and spending time with family and friends.

An adventurous soul, Tom's love for international travel took him to numerous countries around the world.
Each journey enriched his life with new experiences and broadened his perspective, a testament to his
belief in living life to the fullest. When staying closer to home , Tom loved his long time tradition of
camping in Door County Wisconsin with both old friends and new!

Tom's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his nephews Mark (Kym), Scott (Chris),
Woody, and Paul (Jeannette), as well as his great-nephews and nieces Vince, Kayley, Nick, Jeremy,
Sarah, Sam, and Travis. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the moments
spent with them.

The loss of Thomas Lee Hytry will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His intellectual contributions,
adventurous tales, and the warmth of his presence will continue to inspire and influence his family and
friends. Tom's legacy is one of passion, commitment, and the pursuit of knowledge, leaving an indelible
mark on the hearts of those who loved him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate the
extraordinary life he led and the memories he leaves behind.
