Theresa Quimby Life Story

Theresa Quimby was truly one of a kind, fierce, loving, and stubborn in a way that could only belong to her — this combination left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Grounded in Catholic roots, she embraced a spiritual journey that honored both tradition and the living world around her. She found peace in the unseen energies that bind us all and believed that sacredness could be found anywhere — in Mother Earth, one's elders, and in the wisdom carried by many cultures.

Theresa had a way of making it her business to help wherever she saw a need — often without being asked and always with her own unmistakable flair. There was very little she couldn’t or wouldn't do. From cooking and baking to party preparation, decorating, crafting, crocheting, and sewing. She poured herself into caring for others through her hands and with her heart. Helping people wasn’t just something she did — it was who she was. Professionally, she spent her earlier years in retail and as a cosmetologist, and the latter half working in customer service across various companies where I'm certain she left her mark. She spent many years working evenings and weekends to make ends meet, stay busy, or simply pursue activities that reflected her many talents. One of her favorite chapters was working part-time at the movie theater, where she enjoyed the simple perk of complimentary tickets; she truly enjoyed watching movies.

As a single mother, Theresa raised her two children, Anthony C. Quimby and Patricia M. (Quimby) Dominguez, with unwavering devotion. Forming a life bond unlike any other — a deep, enduring connection built on love, sacrifice, resilience, and strength. She was endlessly proud of her children for who they were and loved them unconditionally and with everything she had. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, taking on each role with pride and purpose. She held a special connection and place in so many hearts that naming them individually would be unjust. And so I say to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends: Know that what you felt for her is only half the story you shared, she felt it stronger and more deeply and she loved you all truly and completely. She had a strong presence forged with love, leaving behind a family forever shaped by her courage, generosity, and unmistakable spirit.

Theresa was kind and fierce in the same breath. When she loved you, she loved you completely — relentlessly and without limits. And if she was upset or disagreed with you, she made sure that you knew it just as clearly. Her stubbornness was legendary, unmatched, and unapologetically her own. It’s one of the traits she was well known for, and one that those who loved her will always smile about.

Though she may no longer be with us, her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered — another stitch in the fabric of who she was, forever woven into the hearts of those who love her.
