Steven Michael Bower, 63, passed away on July 11th in Aurora, Illinois, the city where he was born and where he spent his final days.
Steven was the son of Beverly Bower of Somonauk, IL and Franklin Bower of Oswego, IL He was also blessed by the love and guidance of his grandparents, Bill and Mary Dowd, and Arnold and Alberta Bower. He is survived by his siblings, Craig Bower and his wife Vicki, Paul Bower and his wife Peggy, and Mary Fedanzo-Dudley and her late husband Aaron. He also leaves behind his nephew Tyler (William), and his nieces Lacey (Charlotte), Hailey, Alexis, and Taylor. Steven shared a lifelong friendship with Paul Kraus.
He found joy in simple but meaningful pleasures. He had a deep love for animals and appreciated the comfort and companionship they brought. He enjoyed visiting and sharing stories with his grandparents and he truly treasured the time spent in their company. He also liked traveling, camping, cross word puzzles, cooking, and baking Christmas cookies each year for family and friends, a tradition that brought happiness and a sense of togetherness.
Steven graduated from Oswego High School and he grew up attending Oswego Prairie Church, He carried those values into adulthood and was known for his willingness to help others. He especially enjoyed volunteering at Meals on Wheels, where his generosity and compassion made a difference in the lives of many.
Family and friends will remember him for the love, fun, and laughter he provided. He will be missed greatly.
