Shirley M. Marecek

Shirley M. Marecek age 51, born in Stickney, IL. to William & Betty Lange.  Mother of Bryan (Amanda), Sami (Nick Dahlke) & Bethany.  Daughter to Nana (Papa) Marecek.  Sister of Loretta,  Aunt to Bill, Kevin, Kim & Lauryn.  Loving wife of Doug Marecek & friend to so many.

Shirley’s zest for life only enhanced her intense competitive nature in every sport or game.  She loved her work with SD308 as a teaching assistant.  Her years at Prairie Point were her passion.  Her love for her coworkers and her “kiddos” as she called them exemplified this passion.  A close family friend nailed it with the following: “your mom was and always will be a beautiful person.  She was stubborn, sassy and would tell you to fuck off if you deserved it.  She was the definition of a Lion, she could roar like none other and always protect her cubs, but also loved.  She loved all of you no matter what.  The decision made was not because of any of you.  She loved you all way too much.”   Thank you Christian for nailing it.
