Raised in Madison Heights, Michigan, Ranman was a proud graduate of Sterling Heights High School. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing, a hobby that provided him with many peaceful moments and thrilling stories. Music was another source of joy for Ranman; he found comfort and excitement in the melodies and rhythms that accompanied him throughout his life.

He is survived by a loving family who will miss his presence dearly: his siblings, Laura (Jeffrey) Bissell, Mark (Katherine) Mattson, and Gail (Robert) McLaughlin. His legacy of kindness and warmth will live on through them. Ranman was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Eileen Mattson, who instilled in him the values of love and family that he carried throughout his life.
