Minerva Torres Life Story

Minerva Torres, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at her home in Plainfield, Illinois. Born on November 20, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, Minerva's life was a testament to her unwavering kindness and the joy she brought to those around her. She was a beloved mother, sister, titi, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Minerva was the cherished mother of Rosalino (Krystal) Torres Jr., who both felt her love and support in every endeavor. She was the treasured sister of Rosa L. (Rudy M.) Jakupovic Sr. and Oscar Marin. Minnie was adored by many more siblings and nieces and nephews, who will miss her warmth and guidance. She was the devoted wife of the late Rosalino Torres Sr., and the daughter of the late Jaime M. Marin and Manuela M. Marin. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with care and affection.

For many years, Minerva served with a smile as a lunch lady at Divine Providence School in Westchester, where she was not just an employee but a friend and confidante to the students and staff. Her presence in the cafeteria was one of comfort and joy, and her impact on the school community was profound.

Minerva's interests were as rich and varied as her character. A lifelong football and baseball fan, she found joy in the excitement of the game and the camaraderie of fellow fans. She was an excellent cook and baker, known for her delicious dishes that were always made with love. Minerva also had a fondness for wrestling, gameshows, and good horror movies, which she enjoyed in her leisure time. Together with her late husband, Rosalino Sr., and their son, she cherished the times they spent at the horse track, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Those who knew Minerva would describe her as loving, kind, and generous. She had a heart that knew no bounds and a spirit that lifted others. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends.

Minerva Torres's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and selflessness. As she is reunited with her beloved Rosalino Sr. in heaven, we take solace in knowing that her light will continue to shine upon us from above. Her memory will be cherished and her life celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Minerva's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her story will be told for generations, a story of a woman who was truly the heart of her family
