Mary Pat Treece, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in her hometown of Aurora, Illinois. Born on June 9, 1952, to the late Thomas and Agnes (nee McGlynn) Braddish, Mary's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
A proud graduate of Aurora Central in 1970, Mary's early years were marked by her leadership as class president and her luminous presence on stage in several theater productions. Her passion for the arts was only matched by her dedication to her work. Mary retired from a fulfilling career at AT&T, where she managed government contracts and earned special security clearances, a testament to her integrity and trustworthiness.
Upon retirement, Mary discovered her true vocation as a property manager at Rose Terrace Senior Apartments in Oswego, IL. There, she transformed the complex into a thriving community, a reflection of her ability to create familial bonds with those around her. Mary's warmth and genuine concern for others made Rose Terrace not just a place to live, but a home for many.
Mary's love for life was evident in her interests. She relished in the simple pleasures of wine and cheese parties, the profound words of Max Lucado's books, and the tranquil moments of peace and quiet. Yet, it was the time spent with family and friends that she cherished most, always attentive to their needs, often anticipating them before they arose.
As a mother to Jeremy Shaw and Timothy (Jennifer) Shaw, Mary instilled values of love and kindness. Her role as a grandmother to Cameron, Riley, and Faith Shaw was her proudest achievement. She devoted her heart and time to her grandchildren, ensuring that they felt the depth of her love at every moment.
Mary was a sister to the late Thomas Braddish, Maureen Cherry, and James Braddish. She was a cherished aunt to David and Ricky Raspillar along with many other nieces and nephews. Her lifelong friendships with Debbie Berger and Kathy Stark Durrenberger were a source of strength and joy throughout her life.
Described as faith-filled, loving, and selfless, Mary's legacy is one of unwavering faith and boundless love. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Mary Pat Treece's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of compassion, generosity, and grace. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of her beloved family and friends.
