Marilyn Lee (nee Strausberger), age 101, of Montgomery, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on March 23rd, 2026. She was born January 3, 1925 in Oswego, IL; she was the daughter of Martin and Emma (Marquardt) Strausberger. She was united in marriage on January 2, 1943 to Walter Lee until his passing 25 years ago.
She worked at All Steel and Boiltex and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, sitting out by the fire with a beverage, and enjoying the outdoors at her cabin in northern Wisconsin. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt; she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her two children, Dennis (Jeanette) Lee and Donna Lee; her five grandchildren, Doug (Stephanie) Lee, Dan Lee, Shari (Dan) Corrigan, Kelly (Steve) Auer, and Jennifer Lee; her 5 great-grandchildren, Briana and Colton Lee, Bryan, Connor, and Lauren Corrigan, along with numerous cousins, friends and her dog Reggie. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee, parents Martin and Emma Strausberger, father in-law Walter Lee, sister Elaine Ness, and her cherished toy poodle Buffy. We thank those care givers who helped Marilyn; Kim Olsen, Doris Werrline and Donna Lee for the last 5 years.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, March 28th, with a short service to follow at Bauman Family Funeral Home in Oswego, IL. A private interment will be held at a later date.
