Maria Patricia “Patty” Muñoz Silias

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Patricia “Patty” Muñoz Silias, who passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 49, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Patty was born on March 14, 1977, in Pachuca, Mexico, to her loving parents, Ana Maria Silias Serna and Clemente Muñoz Silias. She was the beloved sister of Claudia Muñoz Silias, Araceli Muñoz Silias, and Irma Muñoz Silias.

Patty was deeply blessed by the unwavering love of her three sisters, who traveled from Mexico to care for her throughout her battle with cancer. They took turns staying with her month by month, and in July all three returned to be by her side throughout her final days, remaining faithfully at her bedside until her final breath. Their devotion and selfless care reflected the unbreakable bond they shared and brought Patty immeasurable comfort.

At just 20 years old, Patty moved to the United States in 1999 to pursue the American dream. Through hard work and determination, she built a successful residential cleaning business, earning the trust and respect of countless clients. She also enjoyed working part-time at Grace Coffee & Wine in Yorkville, where her warm smile and friendly personality made everyone feel welcome.

It was while working at Lakeview Grill that she met the love of her life, Eldan Leschewski. Patty wasn’t easily persuaded to go on a first date—it took several visits and plenty of persistence before she finally agreed to dinner at Hank’s Farm Restaurant in Ottawa, Illinois. That evening became the beginning of a beautiful love story that would last for the rest of her life.

Although Patty had no biological children, she wholeheartedly embraced Eldan’s children as her own. She loved them unconditionally, supported them without hesitation, and felt deeply blessed to be accepted into the family she treasured so much.

Patty’s love extended beyond people to the animals she adored. Her faithful little 12-pound Yorkie, Kockie, was her constant companion and held a very special place in her heart.

She loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy nature. Some of her happiest moments were spent at the lake in Wisconsin, boating with family and friends, riding jet skis, hiking wooded trails, relaxing on the beach, or ending the day around a campfire beneath the stars.

The holidays were especially dear to Patty’s heart. They were her favorite time of the year. She loved decorating the house from top to bottom, filling every room with warmth and holiday spirit. More than anything, she treasured bringing family and friends together to celebrate, laugh, share meals, and create memories that would last a lifetime. To Patty, the greatest gift of any holiday was simply being surrounded by the people she loved.

One of Patty’s most treasured memories was a trip to Walt Disney World with dear friends Paul and Lety, whose generous invitation made that special week possible. Watching Patty experience Disney was like watching an eight-year-old child discovering magic for the very first time. Her eyes sparkled with excitement and joy, making it one of the happiest moments of her life. We will forever be grateful for those beautiful memories.

Patty had an extraordinary sense of humor and a rare gift for making people laugh, even during life’s most difficult moments. She was genuine, humble, compassionate, selfless, and endlessly kind. Her warm smile, generous heart, and caring spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She never sought recognition for the good she did; she simply lived each day with love, grace, and generosity.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Patty’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her laughter, kindness, strength, and unconditional love will forever remain in our hearts.

She will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and profoundly missed.
