Lory (Swafford) Nunn Life Story

Lory Ann Nunn, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother gained her wings on April 17, 2025, at the age of 64. She was born on April 25, 1960, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Ida Mae and Willie James Swafford. Her journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and dedication to her family and community.

In her youth, Lory moved to Aurora, IL, where she met her first husband and lifelong friend, Printess Pryor Sr. Their union resulted in the birth of her four surviving children: Tamika (Quincy) Young in Las Vegas, NV; Katrina (Cornelius) Johnson in Noblesville, IN; Printess (De’Sean) Pryor-Holland in Houston, TX; and LaKesha Pryor in Anderson, IN. Lory cherished her role as a mother, instilling values of love, strength, and faith in her children.

Lory was a long-standing member of Faith Deliverance Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through various endeavors and inspiring those around her. In 2011, upon retiring from JB Industries, she decided to move to Anderson, IN, to embrace a new chapter. There, she became a devoted member of Bethesda Temple further nurturing her spiritual growth.

On October 19, 2016, Lory remarried Dale Nunn, who stood by her side through the final battle until her passing. Their love was a testament to the power of companionship and unwavering support. They became travel companions, enjoying trips to New York, the Smokie Mountains and Atlanta.

Lory's passion for ministering led her to start working again, despite her retirement. She found joy and purpose as the director of family services at Muncie Mission, where she touched countless lives through her dedication and compassion. Lory’s work at Muncie Mission reflected her deep commitment to helping others and her belief in the transformative power of faith and service.

Lory leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her husband, four children, stepdaughter Andreka L. Nunn, and 12 grandchildren: Alexis, Ja’Nice, Joshua Jr, Armani, Cornelius Jr, Malakhi, Amir, Amari, Jurnee, Iris, Kaliyah and Aanisah. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Swafford in Chicago, IL; her brother Lester (Claudette) Swafford in Aurora, IL; her sister Barbara Young in Jonesboro, LA; her goddaughter, LaToya Porter; 5 sisters in law,  and a host of family and friends.
