On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Lois Louise Crabbe, loving wife, mother and
grandmother, passed away at age 86 in Naperville, Illinois.
Lois was born on March 25, 1936 in Hillsboro, Illinois to Archibald and Ollie
(Sellers) Otter. She was the youngest of six children. On November 8, 1958, she
married the love of her life, Sydney Lee Crabbe. They raised two sons, Todd and
Vincent.
Lois loved helping people which led her to hold the position of head surgery
scheduler at Barnes Hospital. She loved working in that environment where she
was able to minister and help others. She then went to work in the burn center at
Shriners Children's Hospital.
Her greatest passion was her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She spent
her days reading the bible, memorizing scripture, and walking out her faith. Lois
also had a deep passion for the Operation Christmas Child ministry through
Samaritan's Purse. She would spend every last penny each month buying items
throughout the year to put in the shoeboxes for the children worldwide.
Lois had many hobbies over the years. She loved collecting dolls of any kind and
restoring them; she was an avid quilter and sewer; she was a huge fan of the Billy
Graham family and collected all of their books; and finally she was a remarkable
crafter and antique collector. She passed many of these traits down to her son
and grandsons. But most importantly, Lois loved recounting stories from the past
to her family.
She is survived by two sons Todd (Janelle) Crabbe and Vincent Crabbe, and four
grandchildren Hannah Crabbe, Nathan Crabbe, Joshua Crabbe and Caleb Crabbe;
one sister Patricia Loskot.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Sydney Lee Crabbe, parents Archibald
and Ollie, one brother Wesley, and three sisters Francis, Viola, and Katherean.
A memorial service will be held sometime in the future when she is laid to rest
with her beloved Sydney.
