Larene Ann Barbieri, age 70, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Larene was born on February 7, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to Richard and Doris Stiles. During her childhood, she moved with her family to Streamwood, Illinois, where she later met her future husband, Richard Barbieri. Together, they shared a marriage of 53 years, building a life rooted in love, family, and lasting memories while raising their children.
Larene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She and Richard raised three children—Wendy, Michelle, and Richard Perry. Family was always important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with those she loved.
Larene loved to sing with her two daughters and was known for her beautiful gardens. Her flower beds and landscaping were admired by neighbors, friends, and family alike. She also enjoyed cooking and took pride in preparing meals for her family. Dinnertime was always a cherished tradition, bringing the family together each day to share a meal and talk about their day.
She had a special affection for her dogs, who were a constant part of her life and home.
More than anything, Larene cherished her role as a grandmother. She took great pride in her seven grandchildren, Ariane, Soleil, Roberto, Milan, Gabriel, Autumn, and Ronan. She spent many hours playing Trouble and Cootie Bug with them and was always ready with a table full of snacks when they came to visit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Larene and share memories of her life. Additional details will be provided by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities would be appreciated. This organization was especially meaningful to Larene and her family.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
