Guadalupe Martinez
April 15, 1946 – May 4, 2026
With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Guadalupe Martinez, who entered into the presence of the Lord on May 4, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born on April 15, 1946, in McAllen, Texas, Guadalupe carried a spirit of love, strength, and compassion throughout her life. In 1967, she made Aurora, Illinois her home, where she built a life centered around her unwavering faith, her family, and her dedication to serving others.
Guadalupe was first married to Joe Ramones, who she proceeded in death, and later to Albert Martinez, who she also preceded in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter Marilynn Brenda two beloved grandchildren and three cherished great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts: Melissa (Abel) Rodriguez, Joe Ramones, Mike Ramones, Amada (Eddie) Soto, Albert Jr. (Nora) Martinez, Nick (Marisol) Martinez, Christina (Rodrigo) Martinez-Gurrola, and Anastasia Martinez (Stephen), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.
To know Guadalupe was to know kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. She was a devoted Christian woman whose faith guided every part of her life. She opened her heart not only to her family, but to her entire community. She spent countless hours volunteering with local churches and youth programs, always making sure young people felt welcomed, encouraged, and cared for.
Many will remember Guadalupe as the woman who would gladly pick up local teens and take them to youth meetings so they could experience fellowship, guidance, and the love of God. Through her volunteer work with God’s Gym, she dedicated herself to helping keep youth off the streets by giving them a safe place to belong and something positive to believe in. She never asked for recognition — serving others simply came naturally to her.
Her home, her heart, and her prayers were always open to anyone in need. She found joy in listening to Christian music, spending time with family, sharing her faith, and uplifting those around her with comforting words and quiet acts of love.
Guadalupe’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her compassion, faith, and selflessness. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds peace in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones who passed before her and resting eternally with the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life.
