Franchesca Vega Life Story

Franchesca V. Vega, born on January 29, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Naperville, Illinois. She will be remembered with deep affection for the warmth she shared, the care she gave so freely, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew her.

Franchesca lived her life caring for others. Not only in her profession, but through her unconditional love for her family, friends, and acquaintances, she consistently showed kindness, patience, and compassion. Her presence brought comfort and reassurance, and her thoughtful nature made her a source of strength to many. She was loving, generous, and friendly, and these qualities were evident in every part of her life.

Franchesca completed certification for The Board of Registry of The American Society for Clinical Pathology. She was a graduate of the Phlebotomy Technician program at Joliet Junior College, the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Joliet Junior College, and the Culinary Arts program at Wilco Career Center. Her dedication to learning and her commitment to excellence reflected the determination that guided her throughout her life.

Franchesca was most recently employed at University of Chicago Medicine - AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital. She had an extraordinary 25-year career in the field of laboratory medicine, and her work touched countless lives. She completed her clinicals at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois, and her devotion to patient care created opportunities to work for several hospitals, laboratories, and assisted living facilities throughout the Chicago suburbs. Franchesca’s compassionate nature brought peace, understanding, and dignity into every workplace. She built meaningful relationships with her patients and colleagues, and she was respected for the care and professionalism she brought to her work each day.

Franchesca enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She liked reading novels, touring museums, traveling, and volunteering for nonprofit organizations. She also enjoyed visiting new restaurants, baking desserts, and trying out new recipes. Franchesca loved to celebrate birthdays and surprise the person of honor with an extravagant birthday cake. She jumped into each holiday with joy, and her decorating and culinary skills made these special occasions memorable. She also loved animals. Jasper was rescued from a shelter as a puppy and lived a long life of 15 years. She cared for the family dog like a child, and she often declared that Jasper was her sweet baby.

Franchesca persevered through early learning obstacles to have a fulfilling life and career. Her magnetic personality, unique sense of humor, and contagious laughter brought positive energy into every room and lifted everyone’s spirits. She had a generous, selfless heart that made a difference in people’s lives, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Franchesca is survived by her loving family, including her mother, Carmen L. Rosa-Washington; her father, Robert A. Washington; her grandmother, Carmen Lydia Trinidad; her grandfather, Arturo Rosa; her sister, Amelia C. Vega; and her brother, Glenn R. Washington. She was deeply connected to her hometowns of Humboldt Park, Chicago, and Bolingbrook, Illinois, and those places will forever hold memories of her life, her love, and her enduring spirit.
