Ernesto Reyes Jr., born on January 7, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on August 18, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him best.

Ernesto was a loving, kind, and funny man whose presence brought warmth and light to his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He was the son of Laura (Step-Father Ramiro) Lopez and was deeply devoted to the people he loved throughout his life. He was a proud father to Nathaniel Isaiah, Elijah Robert, and Madilynn Juliet, and his children were among his greatest joys and most meaningful accomplishments. They will forever be his greatest love and legacy. He is also remembered as the brother of Alejandro Reyes and as a cherished nephew of Luis (Esther) Alvarez, Tony (Toni) Alvarez, Angeles Villareal, and Veronica (Cipriano) Carrasco. Ernesto was a cousin and friend to many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Ernesto grew up in Berwyn, where he built the foundation of the life and character that would later define him. He attended St. Lawrence Seminary High School in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1999. During his high school years, he played basketball for the Hilltoppers, a time he remembered with pride and fondness. His love for music and basketball remained with him throughout his life, reflecting the energy, passion, and joy he brought into the world. After high school, he attended the University of Illinois for one year, continuing to pursue his education and explore the opportunities ahead of him.

As a young man, Ernesto moved to Houston, where he worked in automotive sales and later did electrical work for ABC in Houston. He approached his work with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility, earning the respect of those around him. After several years away, he returned to Chicago about eight years ago, he is and always will be part of the SPARK Auto Parts FAMILY . In each role he held, Ernesto was known for his work ethic, his easygoing nature, and the genuine kindness he showed to coworkers and customers alike.

Ernesto will be remembered not only for the work he did and the roles he fulfilled, but also for the way he made people feel. He had a gift for making others laugh and for bringing comfort through his humor, his compassion, and his steady presence. He valued family, friendship, and the simple moments that make life meaningful. His love for music and basketball remained a part of who he was, and those interests were woven into the fabric of his life and the memories he leaves behind.
