Ernest "Bo" Charles Parrish

Ernest “Bo” Charles Parrish, lovingly known as Bo, passed away on July 19, 2026, in Morris, Illinois, at the age of 60. Born on December 2, 1965, in Silver Springs, Maryland, he lived a life marked by faith, devotion, intelligence, kindness, and a remarkable spirit of adventure. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, loyal friend, and a man whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and encouragement to everyone around him.

Bo met the love of his life, Diane, online in 2010, and their connection quickly grew into a deep and enduring love. Though they lived oceans apart and miles away from one another, their bond only strengthened with time. They were married on May 11, 2012, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Bo was a devoted husband who made sure Diane was cared for and cherished, and their marriage stood as a beautiful example of commitment and partnership.

He was a proud and accomplished scholar. Bo graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri-Rolla on December 16, 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering. He later received the highest honor in his master’s degree program, reflecting the discipline, intelligence, and determination that guided him throughout his life. He was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity where he shared many life experiences with his brother Buz and the other Sig. He was detail-oriented, hardworking, and dependable, and he approached every responsibility with care and integrity.

Bo was passionate about his work as a Control System Technician at a nuclear power plant, where he served for 23 years. He took great pride in his profession and touched the lives of many people who had the privilege of working alongside him. He was known not only for his skill and dedication, but also for his personality. He brought energy and joy to the workplace through music, singing, whistling, and his gift for making others laugh. He was often the life of the party, always ready with a silly joke, a kind word, or thoughtful advice. He was a great listener, and many found comfort in his steady presence and sincere care.

Bo lived with an adventurous heart. He loved road trips, exploring nature, swimming, riding his motorcycle, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed traveling to the Philippines and treasured the time he spent with Diane’s family, who loved him dearly in return. He shared his love of adventure with his sons from an early age, taking them on a memorable cross-country road trip to many national parks, including Arches, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. Those experiences reflected the joy he found in discovery and the lasting memories he created for his family.

He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave his time and energy to his faith with sincerity and unwavering commitment. His beliefs shaped the way he lived, and he remained honest, loyal, trustworthy, and righteous even in the most difficult times. He was generous in spirit, always willing to help others in any way he could, and he made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His friendliness and genuine kindness helped him make friends wherever he went.

Bo is survived by his wife Diana Verzosa Parrish, sons Collin Parrish (Lyn)and Jacob(Ashley) Parrish and brother Henry( Karen) Parrish.

Bo will be remembered most for the love he gave so freely. He was a selfless and kind father who always kept his children’s best interests in mind. He was intelligent, adventurous, funny, and deeply caring. His bright smile, his sense of humor, and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him were among his greatest gifts. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him
