Brenda M. Lindsey

Brenda Marie Lindsey was born on August 15, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the union of Earl Carey and Lillian Carey. On Monday, August 10, 2026, she peacefully went home to be with the Lord. Brenda was the fifth of six children and grew up in a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values that shaped her life’s journey.
She received her formal education through the Milwaukee Public School System and proudly graduated from Rufus King High School in 1971. Brenda went on to build a long and dedicated career in the insurance industry, serving her clients with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering integrity for more than two decades.
Brenda lived with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for her family. Whether gathering at Mama Lin’s house for holiday celebrations, entertaining and hosting barbeques, watching Ronnie perform with his singing group as teenagers, bowling with her team, riding with her motorcycle club, shopping, or fishing, she embraced every moment with joy. Dancing with Ronnie was one of her greatest pleasures, and her zest for life flowed naturally into her children and grandchildren.
Brenda loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She invested in their lives, poured into their spirits, and instilled in them the belief that family is everything. La Tonya, Shannon, and Ronald each carry pieces of Brenda with their silence, intelligence, a strong work ethic, mental toughness, and compassion for others.
Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Lindsey Sr.; her mother, Lillian Carey; her father, Earl Carey; and her sisters, Ollie Hunter, Coritha Briggs (Jack), and Sandra Carey.
She leaves to cherish her daughter, La Tonya Beene (Kelvin); her daughter, Shannon Jackson; and her son, Ronald Lindsey Jr. She also leaves her grandchildren: Brenae McNeely (Kendray), Ja’Von Jackson, Tyrese Jackson, Brittany Beene, and Darek Beene; and her great-grandchildren, Te’Ariah McNeely and Tori McNeely, who brought her endless delight. Brenda is also survived by her siblings: Linda Carey, Joyce Chew, and Albert Earl Carey (Shirley), along with a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Brenda’s legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion. She touched countless lives and leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever. Though her physical presence will be missed, her spirit remains—alive in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness inspired by her life. May her memory bring comfort, and may her love continue to surround her family always.
