Bonnie Lee Jacobsen Obituary

 Bonnie Lee (Dawson) Jacobsen, age 75, of Montgomery, IL. passed away peacefully at home Monday, June 20, 2022. She was born May 21,1947 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Lawrence and Eleanor (Hartog) Dawson.

She is a 1965 graduate of Brien McMahon High school in Norwalk Connecticut. She continued her education at JM Wright Technical School and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse and served in her career for over 35 years.

 She married Richard Jacobsen of Floral Park, New York on September 25,1965 at the United Church of Rowayton in Rowayton, Connecticut.  They relocated to Illinois where they raised 3 children and were heavily involved with their careers and community.

Bonnie was a talented and creative person with many interests. She loved wood working, sewing, painting, and making jewelry. She had an enormous heart for animals. She fed the wildlife everyday in their backyard and had many fur babies in her life. She loved gardening and dabbling with recipes.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her family meant everything to her. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and the noise of conversation and laughter made her happy. She loved everyone being together. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Sandra (Larry) Baechler of Glencoe, Al, daughter Lauren Baechler; Melissa (Nick) Gatzionis, of Urbandale, IA, children Troy, Gregory, and Elena; Rick (Allyson) Jacobsen of Montgomery, IL, children Amanda, Ricky, and Andrew. Mitchell (Michele) Rosenberg of Long beach, NY, children Brandon and Allana as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Jacobsen in 2016.

 Celebration of life will be held in Rowayton, Connecticut on a later date.
